Marine Projects Scotland

Marine Projects Scotland Ltd is based at the historic Govan Graving Docks in Glasgow.

Who we are

Marine Projects Scotland Ltd was founded by Peter Breslin (MD) in 2020. Peter has circa 35 years’ experience in ship repair, shipbuilding, ship operations, marine engineering, project management and consultancy and has worked internationally as well and throughout the UK.

He spent the first year of his shipbuilding apprenticeship in Govan Glasgow, so when the opportunity to open up the historic Govan Graving Dock Number One arose, he saw the potential to reinvigorate this site on the Clyde waterfront and resurrect the docks legacy as a leading ship repair and maintenance facility and as a chance to give back to the local Govan community by establishing an apprenticeship scheme of his own, and developing employment and training opportunities for local residents.

The Govan Graving Docks site has been out of use since the docks closed in 1987. Since the beginning of 2020, Peter Breslin has been working to open-up the docks with the view to having dock number one functional and ready to take vessels in June 2024. He has commented, “We are committed to retaining the heritage and preserving the history of Govan Graving Docks. I am honoured to be returning this historic drydock back to active service and look forward to progressing with the restoration programme over the next six months.
